Asbestos Linework, Stanlow Oil Refinery

Beech Group successfully tendered for the safe removal of Asbestos insulated pipework at the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex fully implementing the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the principles from HSG247. The majority of the work coincided with high maintenance activites associated with the refinery Major Turnaround, with various activities planned adjacent to the pipetracks and planned works. Therefore, close liaison and co-operation needed to be maintained throughout whilst still meeting targets. The pipe-work was situated mostly at ground level within open air remote live pipetracks forming part of the distribution system for the petro-chemical complex. The pipework was removed using cut and wrap techniques at approximately 5.0 metre intervals (all approved by the HSE).
